June Gloom = movie weather

if you're coming to LA for a visit, don't come in June!  there's this little phenomenon known as June Gloom, and we are smack in the middle of it right now.  i know we can't complain much, since most of the rest of the year it's 75 and sunny, but when we have several chilly, gray days in a row, i feel the seasonal affective disorder settling in!

the marine layer usually burns off by early afternoon, but this week it's felt like chai latte and curl-up-with-a-book-weather.  get me back to our perfectly sunny weekend!

June gloom does make for good movie weather, which we have been seeing a lot of lately (May movies were fab: Iron Man 3, Gatsby, Star Trek, and can't wait for Man of Steel).  just saw now you see me on the cheap at the rave's $7 tuesday movie night!  it was only ok.

then last night, we had the privilege of attending our friend eric kissack's film premiere down at LA Live!  love living in a city where our industry is thriving!  eric directed this comedy about a guy who uses the missed connections section on craigslist to meet girls (adult humor warning--not a film for the youngsters).  hilarious premise, beautifully shot--we're so proud of him!  we loved the Q&A (photo above) where we learned all about how the film came together.  check out the trailer on their site: missedconnectionsmovie.com, or attend a screening in a city near you.

check back tomorrow--surely the fog will have lifted, and our Friday Fave will be a bit more sunny :)
